Mount Dora FD honored for help after Guatemala eruption

MOUNT DORA — Mount Dora Councilman John Tucker presented Fire Chief Timmons Griner with a gift from Escuinitia, Guatemala, at a council meeting Tuesday.The painting from Escuinitia officials was sent in thanks for helping the community after the June 2018 eruption of Volcano Fuego, which killed Escuinitia residents and left hundreds homeless. In order to help local agencies respond to the disaster, Tucker reached out to the Mount Dora Fire Department, which donated 19 coats and 16 pairs
